Factory update

17th September 2020

Some sort of normality is returning

Following the return of children to school and students to college and university and the end of the holiday season we are now back with new energy ready for the run up to Christmas. You may not believe it, but it is only 99 days until Santa pays a visit.

We are keeping busy, currently working standard shifts throughout the week. As previously stated we have reduced the days on the shop floor from Monday through to Thursday, with longer shifts, which reduces traffic on the road and our carbon footprint and also reduces our Covid-19 exposure. Office staff and our MD will still be in the factory on Fridays for collections, deliveries and sales enquiries.

Over the summer we have been kept busy with some really interesting projects, including producing components for a veterinary related company that manufactures animal MRI scanners. We produce components from 12 and 15mm 6082 -T6 aluminium. The products are water jet cut with a number of holes, internal features and profiles. We then debur and edge round in the Clean’O’Matic machine, followed by reaming holes, counterboring holes and tapping holes with edge preparation. The item is then finally finished with a solvent cleanse and removal of all debris using high pressure airlines. The client is based in the Home Counties, so we can personally deliver the finished product to their brand new state of the art factory.
